Learning & Exchange: Tonkla School Students Visit HWA
Recently, a group of Grade 8 students from Tonkla School in Thailand visited HWA International School in Singapore for a campus experience. Their visit gave them the opportunity to step into the classrooms and experience HWA’s learning environment and school life firsthand. They arrived with curiosity and excitement, ready to explore new ways of learning and meet their peers.
During the visit, the students took part in IB lessons in Mathematics, English, and Individuals and Societies (I&S). In Mathematics, they explored mathematical concepts through classroom activities and tried applying what they had learned to solve problems. English gave them opportunities to practise the language, express their ideas, and interact with others. In I&S, they explored people and society from different perspectives, shared their thoughts, and considered how classroom learning connects to everyday life.
In Physical Education, the students used hockey sticks to hit tennis balls, practising how to control the direction and strength of each shot. As they became familiar with the equipment and tried out different movements, they also learned to cooperate and work as a team. The lesson was lively, and the students enthusiastically took part, enjoying the challenges and interaction.
Beyond the lessons, the visiting students also enjoyed lunch at the school and experienced another part of daily life at HWA. Their visit offered a taste of classroom learning, sports, and school life, and created happy memories. Everyone cherished the opportunity to spend time together, learn about one another, and get to know each other. We hope there will be more opportunities for learning and exchange in the future.
