Our students recently came together to organise a student-led food donation drive in support of Food Bank Singapore, demonstrating the IB Learner Profile attributes of being Caring, Principled, and Collaborators with a strong sense of social responsibility.

Planned and executed by the students, the initiative involved collecting, sorting, and packing non-perishable food items for families and individuals facing food insecurity in Singapore. Throughout the process, students acted as Communicators and Collaborators, working effectively as a team while learning the importance of mindful giving and ethical decision-making.

The drive also provided students with an opportunity to become more Knowledgeable and Reflective, as they explored issues of food insecurity and food waste. By partnering with Food Bank Singapore, students applied their understanding to take meaningful action that supports vulnerable households across the island.
More than just a donation effort, the experience fostered Leadership, Empathy, and Civic Awareness, encouraging students to be Principled risk-takers who take initiative to create positive change. Students reflected on how small, thoughtful actions can have a significant collective impact.

Through this meaningful experience, students were reminded that giving back is not only about donating items, but about being Caring, Reflective individuals who contribute to building a more inclusive, balanced, and compassionate community.
