We are thrilled to announce the remarkable achievement of Winifred, an 11-year-old student, who emerged victorious in the women’s weapon routine championship at the 9th World Kungfu Championship held in Mount Emei, China.
Expressing her delight at winning the championship in China, Winifred expressed gratitude to her parents, brother, and her coach for their unwavering support. Looking ahead, her next goal is to challenge the Singapore National Wushu Competition Championship, displaying her unyielding spirit and ambition.

As an IB student at HWA, Winifred has received a holistic education that integrates both Chinese and Western influences. Her success in China through her prowess in Chinese martial arts serves as a testament to the school’s commitment to providing students with a diverse and enriching educational experience. In fact, Winifred also takes on the role of training other students in Co-Curricular Activities (CCA) lessons, fostering fitness and a shared experience of Chinese martial arts among her peers.
